Student Fee Review Board opens applications for FY 2017-2018
ALBUQUERQUE – The UNM Student Fee Review Board (SFRB) opened applications for the FY 2017-2018 budget recommendation process on July 20th. UNM units seeking to receive funding from student fees are encouraged to submit all necessary forms before the September 9th deadline.
SFRB is made up of undergraduate and graduate student representatives who help decide how over $12 million of student fees are allocated across the university. An interview and application process determined the representatives to the board. This year, ASUNM President Kyle Biederwolf will serve as the Chair, with GPSA President Glenda Lewis serving as Vice-Chair. UNM students are always encouraged to attend forums, deliberations, and other hearings to make their voice heard as to where their student activity fees go. These student fees fund everything from the university’s libraries to our many resource centers. During the FY 2016-2017 process, over 30 units within the university applied for program funding through the SFRB process.
“Deciding where our student fees are spent is one of the most important jobs of our two student governments,” said ASUNM President Kyle Biederwolf. “This year, we are aiming to make the SFRB process as smooth and transparent as possible for everyone in the UNM community.”
